PoPon Detta K.K is pleased to announce the grand opening of its restaurant ChouChou POPON Burger & Pub Okachimachi Store on March 4th, 2017.

This restaurant is modeled after an American-style diner and will offer 100% premium beef hamburgers cooked before your eyes on a large griddle, as well as beef steaks and other authentic grilled items. We will also serve specialty drip-brewed coffee and our own original train cocktails and mixed drinks themed after the paint schemes of rail cars. We also feature a lit-up H0 gauge model train, with scenery depicting Tokyo around 1960 and ten trains in operation, at a combined length of approximately 400 meters running through every nook of the restaurant. A classic Toden train runs amidst landmarks like Tokyo Tower, Zojoji, Yurakucho Guard, and Sensoji; from the entrance and deep into the store, an N-Gauge Ueno Tokyo line starts off in an exaggerated modern Tokyo and is pulled into a time-warp as it travels through famous valleys of Japan and finally into the center of the restaurant, where we have a dogbone-shaped diorama depicting famous sites from around Japan in a painterly style as well as four different miniature worlds.

Since we are so close to JR Okachimachi Station, you can enjoy looking down over trains running one after another on the real Yamanote Line, Keihin Tohoku Line, and the Ueno Tokyo Line. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot the new E235-series rolling stock on the Yamanote Line, of which there is still only one consist, or express trains like Hitachi and Odoriko running on the Ueno Tokyo Line. Our store features Train Navigators to explain the trains that go by in a fun and easy-to-understand way. We are proud of their ability to identify the trains running below instantly on sight and introduce them to our guests. These railway entertainers will also be happy to teach you about the dioramas in the store. They put on a railway entertainment show, unscheduled but lasting about ten minutes, so if you see it please have a great time! These train navigators are professional actors and voice actors working with an entertainment agency. Starting this spring, this unparalleled restaurant will be leaving the station, destination: the world!
