Hankoya.com to Open Rapid-Service Store at Narita Airport Offering Japan's Traditional Stamps, Featuring Fourneau's "Water Light Graffiti"

AmidA Co., Ltd., which owns Hankoya.com Inc., an Internet-based manufacturer/retailer of "hanko" or traditional Japanese stamps, announced on June 23 that it will open a brick-and-mortar store, "Hankoya.com Narita," in the 2nd passenger terminal building of Narita International Airport for a limited period from July 7 to August 31, 2015.

The airport store will have a storefront installation of "Water Light Graffiti," an LED-studded board designed by French artist Antonin Fourneau, offering airport travelers a unique experience to see Japan's traditional stamp impressions and brush strokes turning into an art of light. Mr. Fourneau will be present at the Narita store on July 7 and 8 to celebrate the opening of "Water Light Graffiti," offering live performances of light and characters.

The Narita stamp store is capable of delivering a custom-made traditional Japanese stamp in a short period of time, about 15 minutes in the quickest case, making it possible for busy international travelers to buy one of a wide variety of stamps, ranging from authentic stamps used for official purposes to stamps bearing foreign names expressed in "kanji" Chinese characters, as the one and only souvenir of Japan.
