He has represented clients in patent infringement actions in U.S. district courts, in investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Hollingshead also has significant experience procuring patents for foreign and domestic clients in the semiconductor, computer, DVD, digital camera, electronics packaging, communications and automotive technologies, and in other electrical and mechanical arts. He regularly drafts formal opinions on patent validity, infringement and enforceability involving complex legal and technical issues. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hollingshead was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in the liquid crystal display arts. Mr. Hollingshead holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and mathematics, both from the University of Maryland.
