第19回ハバノ・フェスティバル閉幕で最高級のモンテクリストが輝く

ハバノ・タバコ文化の最大の国際行事が幕を閉じた。ガラ・イブニングではブランド最高の売り物である新製品Linea 1935が披露され、ふさわしい終幕だった。夜の祭典のゲストは新しいLinea 1935の3種のビトラを味わうことができた：Maltes（53x153ミリ）、Dumas（49x130ミリ）と、モンテクリスト（Montecristo）80 Aniversario（80年記念）の形を取ったLeyenda（55x165ミリ）である。

この新種のハバノスはブエルタアバホ（ピナルデルリオ）の草深い平地で採れた極上のフィラー、バインダー、ラッパーを選んだ完全手作りのロングフィルター付きである。Linea 1935はモンテクリスト・ブランドで初めての最強度フレーバーのブレンドである。

ガラ・イブニングではラテングラミー賞受賞のハイラ、デビッド・トレンス、キューバで最も国際的な舞踊団の1つであるバレ・デ・リッツ・アルフォンソのショーもあり、バイオリンのアラ・マリキアンと彼の合奏団が締めくくった。

伝統的なヒュミドール・オークションがフェスティバルの最後を飾った。これはすばらしいボリバル・ブランドの加湿装置付きの葉巻ケースを競売するもの。7セットで126万5000ユーロが集まり、すべてキューバの公衆衛生システムに寄贈される。

2016年ハバノ賞（Habano Awards）の授与式も開催された。ジャーナリストで雑誌Cigar Aficionadoに寄稿するフリーの記者ゴードン・モット氏がコミュニケーション部門、エドワード・サハキアン氏がビジネス部門、ホセファ・アコスタ・ラモス氏がプロダクション部門でそれぞれ受賞した。

フェリペ・ロハス氏のPuro Tabaco（チリ）が審査員の全員一致で第16回インターナショナル・ハバノソムリエ・コンテストの勝者に選ばれた。スラボミル・マレク・ビエリッキ氏（英国）が2位、クリスチャン・ホルデフク氏（アラブ首長国連邦）が3位となった。

世界の最高級のタバコをたたえるこの年1回の行事は第19回に50カ国余から2000人以上が集まり、その歴史で重要な段階に達した。

    The biggest international event of the Habano tobacco culture comes to a

close. The Gala Evening provided a fitting end that saw the presentation of the

new Linea 1935, the brand's most premium offer. Guests at the evening

celebration could taste the three vitolas of the novel Linea 1935: Maltes (53 x

153 mm) and Dumas (49 x 130 mm), while Leyenda (55 x 165 mmm) takes the form of

the Montecristo 80 Aniversario.

    The Habanos in this new line have been made Totalmente a mano con Tripa

Larga (Totally by Hand with Long Filler) following a selection of exquisite

filler, binder and wrapper leaves from the grassy plains of Vuelta Abajo*

(Pinar del Rio*). Linea 1935 comes with a full strength flavour blend for the

first time in the Montecristo brand.

    The evening included performances from the Latin Grammy winner Haila, David

Torrens, and the Ballet de Litz Alfonso, one of Cuba's most international dance

companies. The violinist Ara Malikian together with his musical ensemble closed

proceedings.

    The traditional Humidores Auction provided the finishing touches to the

Festival. It was put up for auction an exquisite Bolivar-branded humidified

cigar box. The auction of seven lots raised a total of Euros 1.265.000, which

will be donated in full to the Cuban Public Health System.

    The 2016 Habano Awards prize giving ceremony was also held. Gordon Mott,

journalist and freelance writer for the Cigar Aficionado magazine received the

award in the Communication category. Edward Sahakian was awarded in the

category of Business and Josefa Acosta Ramos was the winner in the Production

category.

    Puro Tabaco (Chile), with its representative Felipe Rojas, was unanimously

voted the winner of the XVI Edition of the International Habanosommelier

Contest. Slavomir Marek Bielicki (United Kingdom) and Krystian Hordejuk (United

Arab Emirates) were the runners-up in second and third place respectively.

    This yearly event celebrating the world's finest tobacco has reached a

milestone in its history, reuniting in its 19th edition more than 2,000

participants from over 50 countries.
