台湾のウイスキーメーカーの金メダルが190を超える
台湾でトップのウイスキーメーカー、Kavalan（カバラン）は28日夜、International Wine and Spirits Competition（IWSC）でOutstanding Gold（最高金賞）と4つのGold（金賞）を受賞した。これは、同社のウイスキーが「基準を設定」し、世界で「最高の品質」であることを意味する。
ロンドンで7月27日に開催された毎年恒例の第9回IWSCの「蒸留酒テースティング」（Spirits Tasting）イベントで、KavalanはWorldwide Whisky Single Maltカテゴリーで、以下の通り、授与された。

KavalanのオーナーであるYT・リー氏は「Kavalan Solist PortのGold Outstandingは『最上位の品質』を表している。それは今、Trophyの最高の名誉に対するIWSCの権威のある11月16日のAnnual Awards Banquet（毎年恒例の受賞の宴）への参加資格が与えられる」と語った。
審査員はSolist Portについて「ポートの香りと花のような特徴を持つリッチモルトが鼻腔をくすぐる。フルーツケーキ、タバコ、リッチモルトが絶妙な複雑さを生み出す。優しい口当たりで口内に染みわたる。成熟した香りが長く複雑なエンディングへと導く」と語った。

Taiwan whiskymaker surpasses 190 gold medals
Kavalan, Taiwan's premier whiskymaker, last night took out an Outstanding Gold
award and 4 Golds at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC),
meaning its whiskies "set the standard" and are of the "highest quality" in the
world.
At the 9th annual IWSC's "Spirits Tasting" event on July 27th in London,
Kavalan was awarded as follows in its Worldwide Whisky Single Malt category:

IWSC's prestigious November 16 Annual Awards Banquet for the top honour of a

The judges said of the Solist Port:
"Nose booms out rich malt with porty notes and loads of floral characters.
Fruit cake, tobacco and rich malt make for great complexity. Slips easily into
the mouth and across the palate. Some fine mature notes lead into long, complex
finish."
This year, Kavalan's Solist Amontillado Sherry Single Cask Strength was named
