ANZが南太平洋9カ国での銀聯カードの包括的な受け入れを実現　フィジーでの受付は90%余増加

【上海2016年5月13日新華社＝共同通信JBN】銀聯国際（UnionPay International）とANZはフィジーで、UnionPay（銀聯）カード（カードナンバーが62から始まる）が南太平洋諸国9カ国にあるすべてのANZ ATMおよびPOS端末で受け付けられると発表した。UnionPay（銀聯）チップカードがこれらの諸国で受け入れらるのは初めて。銀聯国際（UnionPay International）のツァイ・ジェンボー（蔡剣波）最高経営責任者（CEO）とフィジーのANZカントリーマネジャー、サウド・ミナム氏が調印式に出席した。フィジーのアイヤズ・サイード・カイユム法務・財務相、ファイヤズ・シディック・コヤ産業貿易・観光相、フィジーの貿易省中国貿易委員会のヨリンダ・チャン、Trouism Fijiのトルーマン・ブラッドリー会長が祝福のために出席した。

ANZは、アジア太平洋地域における銀聯国際（UnionPay International）の重要なパートナーである。2014年4月、双方は両国の政府指導者出席の下で協力協定に合意した。その後、ANZはオーストラリアにある8万以上のPOS端末および2000以上のATMでUnionPay（銀聯）カードの受付を実現した。今年1月、ANZはニュージーランドにあるATMおよび小売店によるUnionPayカード受け付けを実現。現在、この協力はフィジー、パプアニューギニア、バヌアツ、サモア、トンガ、クック諸島、ソロモン諸島、キリバス、東ティモールの南太平洋9カ国に広がった。

この協定によって、フィジーおよびパプアニューギニアにおけるUnionPay（銀聯）の受付は大幅に拡大し、90%以上をカバーする。同時に、これはUnionPay（銀聯）キリバス、東ティモールにデビューすることであり、サモア、ソロモン諸島、クック諸島の小売店はUnionPay（銀聯）カードを初めて受け付けることができるようになる。ANZは今後、カンボジアとベトナムのATMでUnionPay（銀聯）カードの利用を実現する。

フィジー、バヌアツ、サモアはChina Pacific Forumで南太平洋の重要な観光訪問国とみなされている。Tourism Fijiによると、4万人の中国人が2015年にフィジーを訪問した。これは前年比40%増である。銀聯国際（UnionPay International）は主要機関との協力を深め、同地域でのカード受け入れ環境を一貫して向上させていく。

On May 11, UnionPay International and ANZ jointly announced in Fiji that

UnionPay cards (card number starting with 62) will be accepted by all ANZ ATMs

and POS terminals across 9 South Pacific island countries. UnionPay chip cards

will be accepted for the first time in these countries. Cai Jianbo, CEO of

UnionPay International, and Saud Minam, ANZ Country Manager in Fiji, attended

the signing ceremony. Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, Fiji's Attorney General and Finance

Minister, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, Fiji's Industrial Trade and Tourism Minister,

Yolinda Chan, China Trade Commissioner of Fiji's Ministry of Trade, and Truman

Bradley, Chairman of Tourism Fiji were present with congratulations.

ANZ is UnionPay International's important partner in Asia Pacific. In April,

2014, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in the presence of

government leaders of both countries. Thereafter, ANZ has enabled UnionPay card

acceptance at over 80,000 POS terminals and over 2,000 ATMs in Australia. This

January, ANZ enabled its ATMs and merchants in New Zealand to accept UnionPay

cards. Now, cooperation is expanded to 9 South Pacific countries including

Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands,

Kiribati and East Timor.

Through the cooperation, UnionPay's acceptance coverage in Fiji and Papua New

Guinea will significantly increase to over 90%. Meanwhile, this is UnionPay's

debut in Kiribati and East Timor, while merchants in Samoa, Solomon Islands and

Cook Islands will be able to accept UnionPay cards for the first time. Next,

ANZ will enable its ATMs in Cambodia and Vietnam to accept UnionPay cards.

Cai Jianbo said, South Pacific island countries are an important part of the

"21st Century Maritime Silk Road". UnionPay International is improving the

local UnionPay's acceptance environment to provide convenient payment service

for UnionPay cardholders visiting the region. This cooperation will not only

improve UnionPay's acceptance footprint and card-using experience in the

region, but also lay a solid foundation for local card issuance, which will

provide new payment options for local residents.

Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa are identified at China Pacific Forum as important

tourist destinations in South Pacific. According to Tourism Fiji, 40,000

Chinese tourists visited Fiji in 2015, with year-on-year growth of 40%.

UnionPay International is increasing its cooperation with mainstream

institutions to continuously improve its acceptance environment in the region.
