ZEISSは、2014/15事業年度（2015年9月30日終了）は同社の売上高および利益ともに増加させた。売上高は45億1100万ユーロ（前年度42億8700万ユーロ）に増加した。これは5%の増加である。金利税引き前利益（EBIT）は3億6900万ユーロとなり、前年度の数字（3億6000万ユーロ）をわずかに上回った。カールツァイス（Carl Zeiss AG）のミヒャエル・カシュケ社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）は「2014/15事業年度は、ZEISSグループにとって幾つかの市場と部門では非常に厳しいものだった。しかし、われわれの幅広い製品ラインのおかげで、われわれは全グループの成長軌道を持続することができ、全体的に見て成功だった。大半の事業部門にとっては良い売上高の数字ではあるが、われわれは、われわれが既に多くの分野で保持しているトップレベルの地位を維持しようとするならば、競争力を強化し続けなければならない」と語っている。

従業員数は2万4946人に若干増加した。研究開発活動への支出は4%増の4億6600万ユーロとなった。有形固定資産への投資額は総額1億6000万ユーロだった。

ZEISSは、2015/16事業年度は世界経済の緩やかな成長を見込んでいる。にもかかわらず、ZEISSグループは2015/16年度の売上高については若干の増収を予測している。

ZEISS Ends Successful 2014/15 Fiscal Year

     - Increase in Competitiveness Remains in Focus

    In the past 2014/15 fiscal year (ended 30 September 2015) ZEISS increased

both its revenue and earnings: revenue rose to EUR4.511 billion (last year:

EUR4.287 billion). This corresponds to an increase of 5 percent. With a figure

of EUR369 million, EBIT was slightly above last year's figure (EUR360 million).

"Fiscal year 2014/15 was a very challenging one for the ZEISS Group in some

markets and segments. However, thanks to our broad portfolio, we were able to

continue the growth trajectory of the entire Group and were successful

overall," says Dr. Michael Kaschke, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG.

"Despite the good revenue figures for most business segments, we must continue

to sharpen our competitiveness if we are to maintain the leading position we

already hold in many areas," says Kaschke.

    The number of employees increased slightly to 24,946. Expenditure on

research and development activities rose by 4 percent to EUR466 million.

Investments in property, plant and equipment totaled EUR160 million.

    For fiscal year 2015/16, ZEISS anticipates only moderate growth of the

global economy. Nevertheless, the ZEISS Group expects a slight increase in

revenue for 2015/16.
