初のアジア太平洋医療技術フォーラムが「健康的な未来を共に切り開く」をテーマに開会

医療技術プロフェッショナルのための地域の主要なイベントであるAsia Pacific MedTech Forum 2015（2015年アジア太平洋医療技術フォーラム）は10日、「Pioneering a Healthy Future Together（健康的な未来を共に切り開く）」をテーマにしてシンガポールで始まる。

Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association （アジア太平洋医療技術協会、APACMed）が主催する2日間の会議は、業界を前進させ、イノベーションとコラボレーションがアジア太平洋地域の人々の満たされない医療ケアニーズの解決を支援するのに不可欠であるか、という問題に取り組む。全議題については、medtechforum.asia（www.medtechforum.asia ）を参照。

医療技術産業に関する新しい研究の成果は、同会議で世界的な経営コンサルティング会社McKinsey & Companyによって共有される。白書は、アジア太平洋の医療技術産業にとってのチャンスと課題を検討し、業界が変化をもたらすために協業することができる分野を推奨する。

APACMedのフレドリック・ナイバーグ最高経営責任者（CEO）は「フォーラムは、世界人口の3分の2が住んでいるというのに、大多数の医療ケアニーズが満たされていないアジア太平洋地域の危機的時期に開かれる。世界的に4000億米ドルの価値のある医療技術部門は、これらの課題に取り組むのに役立つ革新的ソリューションを提供する」と語った。

フォーラムは乳がんを克服した女性で、患者の支援者であるトリシュ・ヘップバーン氏の講演で始まる。

ヘップバーン氏は「私は2年前に乳がんと診断され、私と家族は大きなショックを受けたが、治療と手術を選択するとの医者の説明を受けた後に決断できて非常に感謝している。過去10年に医療機器と技術は大きな進歩を遂げており、患者に極めて大きなインパクトを与えている。しかし、私はアジア太平洋地域全体に、医療費を払えないか医療インフラがないことが理由で、これらの命を救う何らかの技術と治療法を利用できない多くの患者がいることを良く承知している」と語った。

一連の全体会議と分科会セッションは規制環境、イノベーション、政策、人材に関する問題に取り組む。2日間にわたるその他のパネルのハイライトは「Future of Medical Education（医療教育の将来）」、「Disruptive Innovation in Healthcare（ヘルスケアの破壊的イノベーション）」、「CEO Roundtable on Shaping the Future of Healthcare（ヘルスケアの将来形成に関するCEO円卓会議）」などである。

APACMed Kicks Off Asia Pacific MedTech Forum 2015

Inaugural industry event explores how better access to medical devices,

disruptive innovation and collaboration are the keys to pioneering a healthy

future together

The Asia Pacific MedTech Forum 2015, the region's leading event for medical

technology professionals, starts today in Singapore with the theme Pioneering a

Healthy Future Together.

Hosted by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed), the

two-day conference will address issues driving the industry and how innovation

and collaboration are vital to help solve the unmet healthcare needs of people

The findings of a new study on the medical technology industry will be shared

at the conference by global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. The

white paper examines opportunities and challenges for the medical technology

industry in Asia Pacific and recommends areas where the industry can

collaborate to drive change.

The forum opens with a speech by breast cancer survivor and patient advocate

Trish Hepburn.

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, and while it was a huge

shock to me and my family, I felt very grateful that I was able to make an

informed decision about my treatment and surgical options. There have been huge

advances in medical devices and technologies in the past 10 years which are

having a tremendous impact on patients. However, I am well aware that there are

many patients across Asia Pacific without access to some of these lifesaving

technologies and treatments, whether it be due to lack of reimbursement or

health infrastructure."

A series of plenaries and breakout sessions will address topics around the

regulatory environment, innovation, policy and talent. Other panel highlights

over the two days include, The Future of Medical Education, Disruptive

Innovation in Healthcare and the CEO Roundtable on Shaping the Future of
