受賞者に100万米ドルのトップ賞を授与するUAE Drones for Good Awardは、2回目となるAwardの登録が2015年6月15日（月曜日）から受け付けを開始すると発表した。第1回目のAwardは大成功を収めたイベントとなり、57カ国から800余りの提案を集めた。

UAE Drones for Good Awardは世界中の個人、チーム、大学、企業が参加でき、ドローン技術の民生用アプリケーションのイノベーションを推奨し、この領域の法的枠組み開発を推進ることを目指している。

Awardの主要カテゴリーは環境、教育、ロジスティクス、輸送、建設&インフラストラクチャー、ヘルスケア、民間防衛、環境、ソーシャルサービス、経済開発、人道支援&災害救助が含まれるが、これらに限られない。

UAE国内コンペともなっているAwardへの参加申し込みは、2015年11月1日まで受け付けられる。参加者はAwardのウェブサイト（http://www.dronesforgood.ae ）を通じてビデオ、提案を提出して登録することができる。提案は世界の専門家による審査団によって検討され、それに続いて国際コンペと国内コンペの各カテゴリーから10人の応募者が、2015年11月22日に発表される次回に向けて選出される。

セミファイナリストは実用試作機を発表するためドバイに集まり、ドローン技術の著名な専門家やスペシャリストを含む審査団の前でそれぞれのアイディアをデモ公開する。審査団メンバーは後日発表される。受賞者はドバイで2016年2月に開催される第4回政府サミット（Government Summit）の特別セレモニーで表彰される。

応募者はドローンを使って既存のサービスを改善することになる新しい方法を示すか、あるいはこれらテクノロジーを通じて実行できる新しいサービスを提案する必要がある。さらに、プロジェクトは半自立性ないしは完全自律性なものであり、利用できる最も新しい民間テクノロジーを利用することになっている、プロジェクトは安全かつ経済的でなければならない。

UAE Drones for Good Awardは、ムハンマド・ビン・ラシド・マクトム殿下（UAB副大統領兼首相、ドバイ首長）によって2014年2月の第2回政府サミット開催中に発表された。

Awardの第1回は、スイス・チームの衝撃に強いドローン「Flyability」が、国際コンペ部門で100万米ドルを受賞し、国内コンペではマット・カラウ氏のWadi Dronesが100万ディルハムを受賞した。

Entries Open for Second Edition of US$ 1 Million Award for Civilian Application of Drones Technology

- 'UAE Drones for Good Award' to accept submissions from individuals, teams,

universities and companies from around the world

The 'UAE Drones for Good Award', which offers a top prize of US$ 1 million to

the winners, has announced that entries to the second edition of the award will

be accepted from Monday, June 15, 2015. The award in its first edition was a

hugely successful event, attracting more than 800 submissions from 57

countries.

The 'UAE Drones for Good Award', which is open to individuals, teams,

universities and companies from around the world, aims to encourage innovation

in the civilian application of drones technology and promote the development of

legal frameworks in this area.

The main categories of the award include, but are not limited to: Environment,

Education, Logistics, Transport, Construction & Infrastructure, Healthcare,

Civil Defence, Tourism, Social Services, Economic Development, Humanitarian Aid

& Disaster Relief.

Submissions for the award, which also features a National competition, will be

accepted until November 1, 2015. Participants can register through the Award

website (http://www.dronesforgood.ae) along with submissions of their videos

and proposals. The proposals will be reviewed by a judging panel of global

experts following which 10 applicants from each category in the International

and National competitions will be selected for the next round which will be

announced on November 22, 2015.

The semi-finalists will be brought to Dubai to present a working prototype and

give a live demonstration of their ideas in front of the panel of judges, which

includes high-profile experts and specialists in drones technologies. The

members of the panel of judges will be announced at a later date. The winners

will be honoured at a special ceremony in February 2016 before the fourth

Government Summit in Dubai.

Applicants are required to suggest new ways of improving an existing service

using drones, or offer new services that could be implemented through these

technologies. In addition, the projects should be semi- or fully autonomous and

use the most advanced civilian technology available. They should also be safe

and economical.

The 'UAE Drones for Good Award' was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed

bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler

of Dubai, during the second Government Summit in February 2014. In the first

edition of the award, a collision resistant drone by Swiss team Flyability won

the US$1 million prize in the International Competition while Wadi Drones by

Matt Karau received the AED 1 million prize in the National Competition.
