サイモン・マクエレア氏がSemblantのCEOに就任

【ロンドン2015年4月1日PRN＝共同通信JBN】Semblantは1日、同社取締役会がサイモン・マクエレア（Simon McElrea）氏を最高経営責任者（CEO）に任命したと発表した。マクエレア氏は、2014年に新規株式公開に成功した米カリフォルニアのワイヤレス充電企業Energous Corporationのマーケティング・知的財産＆ライセンス供与担当副社長を務めてきた。

SemblantのディレクターでIpex Capital（Semblantの過半数投資企業）のプリンシパルであるマーチン・ステープルトン氏は「マクエレア氏は現在事業変革を進めるSemblantを率いる最適な人物である。同氏のライセンス供与および技術移転に関する同氏の実績は、まさにナノマテリアル・コーティング市場での地位を開拓するためにSemblantが必要とするスキルである」と語った。

マクエレア氏は、シリコンバレーを本拠とする家庭用電化製品およびIP企業のVertical Circuits IncのCEOを歴任したあと、2010年Tesseraに加わった。Vertical Ciucuitsの前には、Amkor Technology、Honeywell Materials Inc、Johnson Mattheyでさまざまな指導的役割を歴任、ここで米国、欧州、アジアで半導体関連製品および電子部品で新規事業を構築し、それを推進した。

シックスシグマ・ブラックベルト認定を受け、40件以上の米国特許考案者であるマクエレア氏はオックスフォード大学でエンジニアリングの学士号、修士号を受けている。同氏は英国の北アイルランド・ダウン州生まれ。

Semblant today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Simon

McElrea as Chief Executive Officer. Simon previously held the position of VP of

Marketing, Intellectual Property & Licensing at Energous Corporation, a

Californian-based wireless charging company that completed its successful IPO

in 2014.

Simon joined Tessera in 2010 having been CEO at Vertical Circuits Inc, a

Silicon Valley based consumer electronics and IP company. Prior to Vertical

Circuits, Simon held a series of diverse leadership roles at Amkor Technology),

Honeywell Materials Inc and Johnson Matthey, where he built and led new

businesses in semiconductor materials and electronics components in the US,

Europe and Asia.

A practising Six Sigma Black-Belt and author of over 40 US patents, Simon holds

Bachelor's and Master's degrees, with honors, in Engineering from Oxford

University. Simon was born in Co Down, Northern Ireland.
