マイクレル20A IntelliMOSパワーステージ製品MIC4520/21発売を発表

【サンノゼ（米カリフォルニア州）2015年3月16日PRN＝共同通信JBN】高性能リニア&パワーソリューションやLAN&タイミング、それに通信ソリューションで業界をリードするマイクレル社（Micrel, Inc.、Nasdaq: MCRL）は16日、小型4mm x 6mm TQFNパッケージに最大20アンペア（A）を供給する能力のあるIntelliMOS（TM）パワーステージ製品ファミリー、MIC4520/MIC4521の発売を発表した。

MIC4521は、2相（two-phase）パワーステージ（MOSFETドライバーとパワーMOSFETを含む）であり、電流・温度統合検出機能を備えている。MIC4520は、単相（single-phase）コントローラー（マイクレルのMIC2111）と接続し、大電流、高性能の完全なパワーコンバーターを構築する。

MIC4520は単相のパワーステージであり、単相もしくは多相のコントローラーとともに操作することができる。これらパワーステージはネットワーキング、サーバー、ストレージ、ベースステーション（基地局）、グラフィックカードなどの最終製品市場を対象とする広範囲のpoint of load（POL）アプリケーションに利用することができる。MIC4520/21の両デバイス共量産製品で入手でき、1000個単位でそれぞれ2・34ドル/2・57ドルから始まる。

MIC4520/MIC4521は、高効率（90%ピーク以上）を実現するマイクレルの高性能FETZilla（TM）DMOSテクノロジーを採用している。マイクレルのIntelliMOSパワーMOSFETは低ゲート容量に最適化されて、最小限のスイッチング損失になるよう高速なスイッチング性能（最高1.2MHz）を可能にするとともに、その低いオン抵抗によりジュール熱損失を削減するよう最適化されている。

マイクレルのブライアン・ヘダヤティ副社長（高性能リニア&パワーソリューションマーケティング担当）は「基板スペースと放熱はクラウドコンピューティングシステムの主たる問題であり、デザイナーは高効率でコンパクトなDC-DCソリューションを必要としている。マイクレルのIntelliMOSパワーステージ・ソリューションはこれらの問題に対応できるので、デザイナーはより高いスイッチング周波数で動作させることによって解決すべき問題の数を減らすとともに、非常に高い効率を維持することができる」と語った。同副社長はさらに「マイクレルのIntelliMOSソリューションは、当社のMIC21000デジタルコントローラーとともに使用すると、正確なモニタリングと保護機能を提供する。デザイナーは完全なモニタリング、弾力的な出力電圧のスケーリング、故障時の保護とともに完璧なPOLソリューションを構築することができる」と語った。

MIC4521は、伝統的なDrMOSパワーステージに比べ高レベルのインテリジェンスとテレメトリー機能を提供する。MIC4521の電流・温度統合検出能力によってパワーシステムデザイナーは、システム信頼性を強化するため、それぞれのパワーコンバーターの状況を正確に測定、モニターすることができる。マイクレル独自の双方向の障害通信プロトコルを活用し、MIC4520とMIC4521は、システムが故障しないよう保護機能を構築できる。

MIC4520/MIC4521は、7ボルト（V）から16ボルトの入力電圧範囲で動作し、デバイスは連続および不連続モードでの動作向けに調整できて、軽負荷効率を高めるためダイオードエミュレーションモードをサポートできる。MIC4520/MIC4521は、接合部動作温度範囲が-40℃から+125℃までとなっている。
