＊業界初のマルチモード充電用チップセットが消費者向けに発売される

メディアテック（MediaTek）は2日、業界初のワイヤレス充電集積回路（IC）のMT3188が、顧客を対象に発売されると発表した。そのリファレンスデザインは、パワーエレクトロニクス、監視回路、共振回路を含み、すでにA4W、WPC、PMA各標準グループの3つの認証を受けている。このチップセットの量産によってメディアテックは、世界の数十億人の消費者向け機器で利用できるマルチモードのワイヤレス充電用チップセットを製造する世界初の半導体企業となる。

MT3188はシングルモード共振ソリューションに対してコスト増なしで、A4WP共振ワイヤレス充電規格とともにWireless Power Consortium（WPC）、Power Matters Alliance （PMA）の電磁誘導式ワイヤレス充電規格と互換性を持つことになる。MT3188はこのようにマルチモードのワイヤレス充電をサポートすることによって、ハンドセットメーカーやその他デバイスメーカーは、今日の市場で主流の充電器のいずれからでも自社製品をシームレスに充電する能力を備えることになる。

MT3188ベースのソリューションのユーザーは、配置の自由から生じる恩恵、固有の複数デバイス充電、A4WPのRezence（TM）テクノロジーによる遠距離充電、さらには市場にある既存の電磁誘導式充電を経験する。

MT3188のマルチモード・ワイヤレス充電は、A4WP BSS 1.2認証、Qi 1.1.2認証、PMA 1.0認証をサポートする。MT3188は現在量産態勢にあり、スマートフォン、タブレットからウエアラブルまでのマルチモード・ワイヤレス充電を可能にする製品に採用される。

MediaTek Multi-Mode Wireless Charging Chipset Enters Mass Production

Industry's first multi-mode charging chipset to be made available for consumer

use

MediaTek, today announced that its MT3188, the industry-first multi-mode

wireless charging integrated circuit (IC), is now commercially available to

customers. The reference design, which includes the power electronics,

supervisory circuit, and resonator has already passed three certifications

including the A4WP, WPC and PMA standards groups. The mass production of this

chipset makes MediaTek the first semiconductor company in the world to make

multi-mode wireless charging chipsets available in devices for billions of

consumers worldwide.

MT3188 is compatible with the A4WP resonant wireless charging standard as well

as the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA)

inductive wireless charging standards with no increase in cost over single mode

resonant solutions. By supporting multi-mode wireless charging, the MT3188

offers handset manufacturers and other device makers the ability to seamlessly

charge their products from any of the main stream chargers in the market,

today.

Users of MT3188 based solutions experience the benefit of freedom of placement,

inherent multiple device charging, and distance charging with the A4WP's

Rezence(TM) technology and the convenience of access to existing inductive

chargers in the market.

MT3188's multi-mode wireless charging support is A4WP BSS 1.2 certified, Qi

1.1.2 certified; and PMA 1.0 certified. The MT3188 is currently in mass

production and will be adopted into products enabling multimode wireless

charging -- from smartphones and tablets to wearables.
