第3回目の政府サミット(Government Summit)が今日アラブ首長国連邦、ドバイで開催されました。本サミットは、93か国から4,000人の参加者を招集し、テクノロジーとイノベーションがどのように将来の政府を形成し、最も良く市民のニーズを満たしていくかを探究していきます。

サミット初日の午前中は、基調演説を特色とし、以下のメンバーにより実施されました:

・世界経済フォーラム創設者兼会長、クラウス・シュワブ氏、新グローバル・コンテキストと、その政府に対するインパクトについて

・韓国社会副首相兼教育部長官、ファン・ウヨ氏、韓国の原動力としての教育について

The third annual Government Summit opened today in Dubai, UAE, bringing

together almost 4,000 participants from 93 countries to explore how technology

and innovation will shape future governments and best meet citizens' needs.

The first morning of the Summit featured keynote addresses by:

- Klaus Schwab, founder and Chairman of the World Economic Forum, regarding the

new global context and its impact upon governments

- Hwang Woo-yea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the

Republic of Korea, regarding education as the driving force in Korea's

development

- Boo-Keun Yoon, President of Samsung Electronics, on Samsung's approach to

innovation to stay ahead of the curve

"It is human imagination and innovation that drives economic change.

Governments have an essential role to play - though innovation has tended to

come from private business, governments have to be catalysts, driving the

innovation in this ecosystem," said Klaus Schwab, founder and Chairman of the

World Economic Forum. "The future can only be solved by governments, working in

close cooperation with businesses."

Boo-Keun Yoon, President of Samsung Electronics. "I can say with confidence

The Government Summit includes more than 50 sessions about how the next

generation of governments will create and share technological developments more

strategically. Topics include using artificial intelligence to meet public

needs; unlocking the power of mobile-based government; the use of big data; and

the future of healthcare and education for citizens. Envisioning cities of the

future will also be a theme of the Summit, with attendees considering how

technology can be used to improve how we live, work and commute.

The first day of the Summit also includes speeches by His Highness General

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy

Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Ban Ki Moon, Secretary General

of the United Nations.
