マニュライフ（Manulife）は1日、ロイ・ゴリ（Roy Gori）氏を2015年3月1日付でマニュライフ・アジアの社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）に任命したと発表した。ゴリ氏はマニュライフのドナルド・A・ガロイアン社長兼CEOに直接報告し、同社経営委員会の一員になる。ゴリ氏はマニュライフに36年勤続、ここ7年間アジア部門の責任者を務めているロバート・クック社長のあとを継ぐ。

ゴリ氏はCitiからマニュライフに移る。直近ではCitiの消費者金融、北アジア・オーストラリアの責任者、アジア太平洋地区リテールバンキング地域責任者を務めたが、それにはCitiの保険・資産管理業務担当が含まれる。これまでに、Citibank AustraliaのCEOなどを歴任、アジア全域の各種クレジットカード・消費者ローン業務を監督してきた。

ガロイアン社長は「ゴリ氏はアジアにとても詳しく、戦略性に富み、多様な任務を通じて取得した広範な経験を有しており、その指導力は実証されている。彼はマニュライフの価値観を共有、社風にもうまく適合するだろう」と語った。

ゴリ氏はCitiで金融、営業、販売などさまざまな役割をこなした。シドニー、シンガポール、タイの駐在経験があり、新ポストに伴い香港駐在になる。

ゴリ氏はニューサウスウェールズ大学で経済・金融を学び、シドニー工科大学の修士号を取得している。夫人との間に子どもが3人いる。

Manulife Appoints Roy Gori as Head of Asia Division

              Succeeds Robert Cook who is retiring

   Manulife today announced that Roy Gori has been appointed as President and

Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Asia, effective March 1, 2015. Mr. Gori will

report directly to Manulife President and Chief Executive Officer, Donald A.

Guloien, and will become a member of the Company's Executive Committee. Mr.

Gori succeeds Robert Cook who is retiring after a 36-year career at Manulife,

the last seven years as Head of Asia Division.

   Mr. Gori joins Manulife from Citi, where he was most recently Head of

Consumer Banking, North Asia and Australia, and Regional Head of Retail

Banking, Asia Pacific, which included responsibility for Citi's insurance and

wealth management businesses. Previous roles included CEO of Citibank

Australia, and  overseeing various credit card and consumer loans businesses

across Asia.

   "Roy has a deep knowledge of Asia, a highly strategic bent, a wide range of

experience gained through a number of diverse assignments, and proven

leadership capabilities," said Mr. Guloien. "He also shares our values at

Manulife and will be a strong cultural fit."

   Mr. Gori has held various roles at Citi, including finance, operations, and

marketing. He has worked and lived in Sydney, Singapore and Thailand. In his

new role, he will be located in Hong Kong.

   Mr. Gori has an Economics and Finance degree from the University of New

South Wales and an MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is married

with three children.
