【サンフランシスコ2014年11月15日PRN＝共同通信JBN】2014年11月16日、オーナー一家が所有する世界的企業であるトレーダーヴィックス（Trader Vic’s）は創業80周年の記念日を迎える。驚嘆すべきこの日を迎えるにあたり、同社はこれまでよりいっそう人気のある存在であり続け、業務の拡大を続けていることを誇りに思っている。長年にかけて、トレーダーヴィックスは13カ国に25のレストラン店舗を擁する国際的に認知されたブランドに成長した。

同社の事業が80周年記念を迎えるのに加え、2014年は世界で最も有名なカクテルの1つであるグラスの中のパラダイス、伝説的なマイタイが生まれてから70年の節目を迎える年でもある。ヴィクター・バージェロンによって1944年に創り出されたマイタイは、時代を超え繰り返し複製されたトロピカルカクテルの1つである。この他にも同社が提供するカクテル類の素晴らしい品ぞろえも忘れてはならない。世界クラスの料理と並んで供されるそのいくつかを挙げれば、チキプカプカやサモア風フォッグカッターなどである。

カリフォルニア州サンフランシスコ湾を見下ろすエメリービルにある同社の本店は、1934年にオークランドで開業、1972年に現在の所在地に移転し、3世代にわたって人気を集めてきた。昨年は最初の国外進出先だったトレーダーヴィックス・ロンドン店がパークレーンに開業してから50周年を迎えた。ことし、われわれのレストランのいくつかはそれぞれの記念日を迎えている。トレーダーヴィックス東京店は40周年、中東のビーチ・ロタナ・ホテルにあるトレーダーヴィックス・アブダビ店とトレーダーヴィックス・ドバイ・クラウンプラザはそれぞれ20周年、などである。他の記念日を待ち望みながら、トレーダーヴィックス・アトランタ店は2016年に40周年を迎える。

2015年には米西海岸で新しいコンセプトが実現する計画が進行中である。トレーダーヴィックス・マイタイラウンジ（Trader Vic’s Mai Tai Lounge）はアイランドスタイルの雰囲気にハワイ風祝宴を掛け合わせ、デリシャスなスモールプレートとバーバイツを用意、トロピカルカクテルのコレクションから1杯、2杯、あるいはそれ以上を提供する。

Our flagship restaurant in Emeryville, California overlooking the San Francisco

Bay since 1972 from its original location in Oakland in 1934, has been a
