motto "Industrie 4.0: Smart Manufacturing for the Future". Over 200
distinguished guests are expected to participate in the forum. Apart from
presentations on the conditions for investments in Germany, renowned German and
Japanese experts from industry and R&D will also present their positions on the
importance of Industrie 4.0 for the future of production, their current and
future activities in this field, and the requirements for transforming the
vision into reality. One of the keynote speakers will be Prof. Dr. Zuhlke,
renowned Industrie 4.0 expert and chairman of the research platform
"SmartFactory". Representatives of 11 German federal states will also attend
this year's forum to get into contact with Japanese decision makers.
The German government is keen to strengthen its position at the forefront of
Industrie 4.0. The Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel,
restated his support for the digital economy at a recent high-level IT summit,
calling for closer cooperation with the mechanical engineering, electronic
engineering, and automobile industry. He cited the creation of an Industrie 4.0
platform and approximately 430 million euros in funding for the digital economy
until 2018. The government pursues the goal, that Germany becomes a leading
provider for efficient and sustainable industrial solutions. At the same time a
market for leading technologies is created, which will make it also more
attractive to foreign companies, who want to invest in Germany and take part in
the 4th industrial revolution.
"In addition to German companies, there are often also Japanese companies in
the machinery, automation and ICT sector, who are among the world leaders in
their field and want to take advantage of the current Industrie 4.0 trend. With
our established industry forum we reach exactly the right audience, with whom
the exchange of future potential for cooperation can be pursued," says Dr.
Benno Bunse, CEO of Germany Trade & Invest.
