60秒でエボラ感染を判定　カナダの企業が検査キットを開発

【リッチモンド（カナダ）2014年10月30日PRN＝共同通信JBN】急速進行性感染症の診断テストで世界トップの1つであるbioLytical Laboratoriesは現在西アフリカでまん延しているエボラ出血熱・ザイール系の抗体を発症前に迅速に診断できるプロトタイプの検査キットの開発に成功した、と発表した。

プロトタイプは同社の試験済の、正確で広く受け入れられているINSTI迅速テストプラットフォームを基盤にしたもので、最速60秒で結果を判定することが可能である。

同社の最高経営責任者（CEO）であるクリストファー・シャクルトン博士は「私たちの研究開発チームがそれほど短時間に成果を挙げたことに興奮している。迅速かつ正確で多様な環境における診断テストに対する需要は急を要しており、死に至る可能性が高いこの感染症 をできるだけ迅速に診断することが求められている。われわれが開発したINSTIプラットフォームは、現場における多数を対象にしたスクリーニングや入国時の旅行客を対象にしたケースで迅速な判定が必要な局面では他のより時間がかかるテストに比べて明らかに優位性が存在する」と語った。

Canadian Company Develops 60-Second Ebola Testing Kit

bioLytical Laboratories, a world leader in rapid infectious disease diagnostic

tests, has successfully developed a pre-clinical prototype diagnostic test for

the rapid detection of antibodies to the Ebola Zaire strain responsible for the

current outbreak in West Africa.

The prototype is based upon the Company's proven, accurate, and highly accepted

as 60 seconds.
