ライブでビジュアライズできるARアプリ開発

世界有数の絵具・塗料メーカーであるアクゾノーベル社（AkzoNobel）および英国に拠点を置くパーセプチュアルコンピューティング企業のString(R)社は、String(R)社が開発したコンピュータビジョン技術で動くDULUX / SADOLIN / NORDSJO  / CORAL / FLEXA VISUALIZER 新アプリ のリリースを発表しました。

このアプリは6月、7月の間米国を除く主な市場でリリースされており、iOS 及びAndroidで無料利用できます。

Dulux Visualizerは、ユーザが部屋を歩きまわりながらモバイルデバイス上で壁に色を付け、リアルタイムで結果を見ることができるモバイル用オーグメンテッドリアリティ（拡張現実）のアプリです。グローバル塗料ブランドがAR(拡張現実)ツールを消費者に提供するのは今回が初めてで、AkzoNobel社、Tessella社およびWebcredible社が共同開発しました。

「自宅やオフィスのインテリアの色を選ぶのは、非常に個人的な事です。」とString社で開発を監督した商品担当部長のPaul Skidmore氏は述べました。

    AkzoNobel, the leading global paints and coatings company, and String(R), a

UK based perceptual computing company, are proud to announce the launch of the

new DULUX / SADOLIN / NORDSJO / CORAL / FLEXA VISUALIZER APP, powered by

Computer Vision technology developed by String(R). The app is being released

across all major markets (excluding the US) throughout June and July, and is

available free of charge on iOS and Android.

    The Dulux Visualizer is a mobile Augmented Reality app which enables users

to re-colour their walls, while viewing the results live on their mobile

device, as they move around the room. This is the first time a global paint

brand is providing an AR tool to consumers, and was developed in collaboration

with AkzoNobel, Tessella and Webcredible.

    "Choosing interior colours for your home or business is a very personal

undertaking," said Paul Skidmore, Director of Product, who oversaw the

development at String.

    "The capability to choose real paint colours, and then preview them live on

your own walls, will we hope, remove some of the risk that consumers might

worry about."
