Aerotropolis EMEA Conference & Exhibition(ヨーロッパ・中東・アフリカ空港都市会議・展示会)は世界の空港・不動産開発業界向けの一連のイベントの1つで、「空港都市世界会議・展示会」をより実際的で地域に焦点をあてる観点から補完しようと企画された。

今回の創立イベントはマンチェスター市とAirport City Manchesterが「International Festival for Business 2014」の一環として主催したもので、7月8日から10日まで英国・マンチェスターで開催されるが、現在までに35人以上の空港都市に関する著名な研究者、開発者の出席が見込まれており、急速に世界に広がるこのビジネスモデルについての研究や理解を共有することになる。

マンチェスター市の機関Marketing Manchesterのアンドリュー・ストークス最高経営責任者(CEO)は「第1回のAerotropolis EMEAを主催することで真にマンチェスター流の方法でコラボレーションの精神を祝っている。このイベントには空港の代表者、世界の市政府の経済開発担当者、国際投資家、サービスプロバイダーなどの出席が見込まれ、Airport City Manchesterがこの地域にもたらす大きな機会を示すための良いプラットホームになる」と述べた。

今回のイベントはマンチェスター空港で8億ポンドを費やしたランドマーク開発になった英国初の空港都市Airport City Manchesterにスポットをあてると同時にヨーロッパ・中東・アフリカ地域で同規模のプロジェクトに取り組む経営幹部の結びつきを計るものになる。

会議のプログラムは地域に与える経済的効果の評価、また企業や自由貿易地域を通じた成長促進などを通じて、空港都市の価値や利点を投資家、ステークホルダー、地域指導者に伝える方法を模索することになる。Manchester Airports Group(MAG)のグループ最高経営責任者(CEO)チャーリー・コーニッシュ氏はすでに参加の意向を明らかにしており、さらに予定されている他の講演者にはMAGのプロパティー部門最高経営責任者(CEO)リンダ・シロー氏、マンチェスター市議会最高経営責任者(CEO)ハワード・バーンスタイン卿、ノースカロライナ大学Centre for Air Commerceディレクターのジョン・D・キャサーダ博士が含まれるが、その後、業界各方面を代表する実践的先駆者を含むパネル討論会やプレゼンテーションが予定されている。

C-level airport executives join government officials and industry leaders in

support of inaugural event

The Aerotropolis EMEA Conference & Exhibition is part of a series of events for

the global airport development and real estate communities, designed to

complement the Airport Cities World Conference & Exhibition with a more

practical approach and a regional focus.

This inaugural event, hosted by Manchester and Airport City Manchester as part

of the International Festival for Business 2014, will be held on 8 - 10 July in

Manchester, UK and has so far confirmed attendance from more than 35

high-profile key thinkers and implementers of the aerotropolis concept, sharing

their learning and understanding of a model that is fast becoming a reality

around the globe.

assessing the economic impact on the region as well as facilitating growth

of Manchester Airports Group has already confirmed his participation and

attendees will also hear addresses from Lynda Shillaw, Divisional Chief

Executive, Property, Manchester Airports Group, Sir Howard Bernstein, Chief

Executive of Manchester City Council and Prof John D. Kasarda, Director, Centre

for Air Commerce, University of North Carolina followed by a series of panel

discussions and presentations involving thought leaders from throughout the

industry.

Airport City will take Manchester Airport beyond its traditional use of a

regional transport hub and transform it into an international business

destination in its own right with 5m sq ft of advanced manufacturing, retail,

office, hotel and logistics space available

of Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports.
