SDアソシエーション、TransferJetコンソーシアムと協業契約を締結

連携によりSDメモリーカードユーザーの非接触通信手段の選択肢が拡大

カリフォルニア州サンラモン－2014年3月26日－業界指針となるメモリーカード規格を策定する国際団体であるSDアソシエーション（SDA）と、近距離高速無線通信技術の規格を策定する国際団体のTransferJetコンソーシアムは、SDメモリーカードに保存された大容量ファイルの非接触高速通信を可能にするため協業する事に合意したことを本日発表いたしました。　

SDメモリーカード規格は、世界をリードするリムーバブルメモリーのフォームファクタに大容量データの記録が可能で、4Kや8Kの映像など、大容量メモリーが必要な画像や高解像度映像ファイルの保存ができます。また、TransferJetはスマートフォンやタブレットなどのポータブルデバイス間などで、SDメモリーカードに保存された大容量ファイルを高速で無線転送するのに適した技術です。SDAとTransferJetコンソーシアムは、SDメモリーカードとTransferJet技術を使用したデジタルファイルの保存・転送を可能とする市場開発を共同で推進いたします。

SDメモリーカードとTransferJet技術は、カメラ、プリンター、ラップトップ、タブレット、スマートフォン等のデバイスに世界中で使用されています。大量なデータ転送処理が必要なホスト機器等は、TransferJet技術により、TransferJet内蔵SDメモリーカードとデバイス間で高速かつ安全にデータ転送できるという恩恵を受けることになります。

SD Association Signs Collaboration Agreement With TransferJet Consortium

    The SD Association (SDA) (http://www.sdcard.org/ ), a global ecosystem of

companies setting industry-leading memory card standards, and TransferJet

Consortium, the international group developing industrial standards of close

proximity, high-speed data transmission wireless technology, today announced an

agreement to collaborate and enable fast and contactless transfer of very large

files stored on SD memory cards.

     SD memory card standards provide massive storage capacities capable of

supporting memory-hungry picture and high-definition video files, including 4K

and even 8k video, in the world's leading removable memory form factor.

TransferJet is a good option to wirelessly extract such large files stored on a

SD memory card in the shortest possible time, including between portable

devices like smartphones and tablets. The SDA and TransferJet Consortium will

jointly market the storage and transfer of digital files with SD memory cards

and TransferJet technology.

    "TransferJet technology can transfer mass volume of digital data in a short

time compared to other wireless technologies," said Brian Kumagai, president of

the SD Association. "Consumers and targeted industries alike will benefit from

the complementary value and global availability of massive storage capacities

of SD memory cards and massive transfer rates of TransferJet technology

transferring between the SD memory card and the devices. This agreement aligns

with SDA's advances in supporting Ultra High Definition Video and other

emerging storage demands and opening new markets for SD standards."

    SD memory card standards and TransferJet technology are found in consumers'

cameras, printers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and more devices around the

world. Industry verticals with massive data demands will directly benefit from

transferring data quickly and securely between SD memory cards and other

devices with TransferJet technology.
