The Wireless Registry Inc.は15日、ワイアレス名称を登録する世界初のグローバルレジストリーを創設したと発表した。ドメイン・ネーム・システム（DNS）がインターネットの勢いに弾みをつけたように、The Wireless Registryはインターネット・オブ・シングスの勢いに弾みをつける。個人や企業は15日から、無線名称を登録し（www.wirelessregistry.com）、これらの名称にコンテンツを関連付け、検出された際にはその意味を提供することができる。

新しいレジストリーによって、だれでも近接アイデンティティーを管理し、新しいサービスおよびアプリケーションを開発、利用することができ、これまで不可能だった方法で近接した環境にかかわることになる。

The Wireless Registryの共同創設者で最高経営責任者（CEO）であるパトリック・パロディ氏は「スマートフォン、住宅用ルーター、車両などWiFiやBluetoothの無線技術を使うものすべてが固有の無線シグネチャーと近接アイデンティティーを保有している。無線名称やSSIDを登録すれば、The Wireless Registryの中で近接アイデンティティーを所有し、1カ所にとどまろうがどこに行こうが仮想のバブルを生み出せる。われわれはDNS of Thingsという体制を構築し、個人や企業が無線シグナルをコントロールし、それに意味を付加することを可能にした」と語った。

The Wireless Registry Inc. today announced the launch of the world's first

global registry for wireless names. In the same way the Domain Name System

(DNS) unleashed the power of the Internet, The Wireless Registry unleashes the

power of the Internet of Things. From today, individuals and businesses can

register wireless names (www.wirelessregistry.com), associate content to these

names and provide meaning when they are detected.

This new registry allows anyone to take control of their proximal identities
