【ニューヨーク、ミュンヘン2013年9月30日PRN=共同JBN】国連本部で27日開かれたAlliance of Civilizations Group of Friends閣僚級会談の中で、BMWグループ（http://www.bmwgroup.com）と国連「文明の同盟」（UNAOC）（http://www.unaoc.org）間の大きな官民提携関係が更新された。ナーセル・ビン・アブドゥルアジーズ・ナスルUNAOC上級代表とBMWグループのビル・マクアンドリューズ副社長は、潘基文事務総長、100カ国余りの閣僚、国際組織リーダーおよび報道関係者の出席の下で協定に署名した。マクアンドリューズ氏は、第68回国連総会開催中にアン・ナスル氏が招集した閣僚級会議に出席していた。

今回の協定更新は、模範的な両者共同プロジェクトである異文化交流賞（Intercultural Innovation Award、http://interculturalinnovation.org）を新しいレベルの活動に持ち上げることで、国際社会の目標をさらに進める官民提携関係の将来性を強調して見せる。異文化交流賞はグローバルベンチャーであり、アイデンティティーの違いに由来する世界の緊張や紛争を軽減するため有効な草の根活動を判別し、財政的支援を供与し、現物支援する活動である。同賞は昨年、世界の14万人以上の個人に役立っている。前年より2倍の増加となる。さらに同賞開始以来、人々を支援してきたコミュニティーの数は3倍となる。

両者は国連と民間セクター間のこのような新しいコラボレーションのモデルが、より大きなインパクトを生み出すものと考えており、両者はそれぞれのプロジェクトの発展を保証するため、それぞれの専門知識を出し合うことにしている。重要なことは、今回の提携関係更新は、賞を通じて判定する各種活動に提供される支援のレベルが高まることを意味している。両パートナーは同賞を共同管理して、受賞者を支援するためそれぞれのリソース、時間、ネットワークを動員する。

UNAOC and BMW Group Renew Ground-Breaking Partnership

NEW YORK and MUNICH, Sept. 30 /PRN=KYODO JBN/ --

     During the Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends Ministerial meeting

held on Friday at the United Nations headquarters, a major public-private

partnership between BMW Group [http://www.bmwgroup.com ] and the UN Alliance of

Civilizations (UNAOC) [http://www.unaoc.org ] was renewed. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz

Al-Nasser, the UN High Representative for UNAOC and Mr. Bill McAndrews, BMW

Group Vice President, signed the agreement in the presence of the UN

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, ministers from over 100 countries, and the heads

of international organizations as well as media representatives. Mr. McAndrews

was participating in the ministerial meeting which was convened by Mr.

Al-Nasser during the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly.

    This renewal brings an exemplary shared project, The Intercultural

Innovation Award [http://interculturalinnovation.org ], to a new level of

activity, thereby highlighting the potential of public-private partnerships in

furthering the international community's goals. The Intercultural Innovation

Award is a global venture, to identify and provide monetary and in-kind support

to grassroots initiatives that are working to alleviate identity-based tensions

and conflicts around the world. Last year, the award benefitted over 140,000

individuals around the world. This represented a two-fold increase from the

previous year. Additionally, since its inception, the award has tripled the

number of communities it is helping people in.

    The two parties believe that this new model of collaboration between the UN

and the private sector creates deeper impact, as both provide their respective

expertise to ensure the growth of each project. Crucially, this renewal means

an increase in the level of support that will be provided to the initiatives

identified through the award. Both partners manage the award jointly -

mobilizing their resources, time, and networks to support the awardees.
