香港出身ドライバー、ダリル・オーヤンがWTCCに参戦 インターラッシュのスポンサーカー、BMW 320TCにて挑む

香港（2013年9月27日）/PRNewswire/ - インターラッシュがスポンサーを務めるダリル・オーヤンが、AFコルセ・チームよりル･マン24時間耐久レースに参戦し、GTE AMクラス準優勝を果たしたのはわずか数ヶ月前、6月23日でした。中継を介して約一億人の視聴者の目前で挙げたこの華々しい偉勲により、世界にその名を馳せたダリル・オーヤン、今回は来る11月3日に上海で開催されるFIA世界ツーリング選手権（WTCC）に熱く挑みをかけます。この程、ROALモータースポーツ所属となったオーヤンは、BMW 320TC改造車を駆り、15カ国から参戦するトップドライバー達と競い合います。

今回会場となる上海国際サーキットのレイアウトは漢字の「上」をモチーフにしており、多種のコーナーと直線で構成されています。ドライバーの腕を問われる難しいコースですが、オーバーテイクのチャンスを多く提供する構造であるため、オーヤンの高いスキルが活かされて、ファンを魅了する走りが期待されます。

Darryl O'Young of Hong Kong to Race a BMW 320TC for INTERUSH in Shanghai WTCC Series

    Darryl O'Young is gaining tremendous international recognition following

his amazing second place finish, racing with Ferrari and Interush in the Le

Mans

    24-Hour Endurance Race in France that was broadcast to over 100 million

race fans worldwide. On November 3rd, Chinese Race fans will be able to cheer

for Darryl when he will once again race for Interush in the World Touring Car

Championship (WTCC) Race in Shanghai, China. This time O'Young will compete

against other top drivers from 15 countries, in a modified BMW 320TC with the

ROAL Motorsport Team.

    The international WTCC series distinguishes itself from other series by

racing popular touring cars which have been modified to drive up to 270 kph

with a 1.6 litre turbo charged engine and reinforced to survive brutal crashes.

It is also famous for its bumper-to-bumper racing conducted in a short sprint

race format. The WTCC Series has experienced a rapid audience growth as

car-enthusiasts have joined race-fans worldwide to cheer on their favorite

cars, drivers and teams on challenging race tracks throughout Europe, Asia, and

the Americas.

    O'Young is expected to skillfully tackle the technically demanding Shanghai

International Circuit which has a layout inspired by the shape of the first

Chinese character "shang" used to spell the city of Shanghai. The circuit

features a great combination of corners and straights which offers drivers many

overtaking opportunities that maximizes race excitement.
