【ロンドン2013年9月17日PRN＝共同JBN】トップレベルドメイン（TLD）の.telを主宰するTelnic社（http://telnic.org）は17日、8桁以上の数字限定の.telドメイン名の受け付けを10月に開始すると発表した。

例えば数字限定の00442074676450.tel ないし0207-467-6450.tel などのドメイン名の登録を希望する者はICANN認定登録機関で10月15日（火）午後3時（GMT）から受け付けられる。

Telnicのカシャヤール・マハダビ最高経営責任者（CEO）は「登録希望者はこれであらゆるタイプのオンラインコンタクト情報を発信できる。企業名の.tel ドメイン名か数字の.tel ドメイン名のいずれかを登録でき、選択の幅が広がる。これはユーザーがビジネス名か電話番号を登録すればモバイルにやさしい、より速い方法のオンラインで連絡がつけられることを意味している」と述べた。

登録は先着順。登録料金はICANN認定登録機関や再販業者が設定するが、現在の.tel価格と同様レベルになる見込み。

Telnic Announces All-numeric Long Domain Strings Available from 15th October

    Telnic Limited (http://telnic.org), the Registry Operator for the

communications-focused .tel top level domain (TLD), today announced that

all-numeric .tel domain strings of eight digits or longer will be made

available in October.

    Registrants wishing to register strings such as 00442074676450.tel or

0207-467-6450.tel will be able to do so through ICANN-accredited Registrars

from 15:00 GMT on Tuesday 15th October.

    "Registrants now have an increased choice of registering a .tel name or a

.tel number under which they can publish all types of contact information

online," said Khashayar Mahdavi, CEO of Telnic. "This means that if the

customer knows either the business name or telephone number for a business, it

can be reached online quickly in a mobile-friendly way."

    Registrations will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Retail pricing

is set by ICANN-accredited Registrars and their resellers, but it is

anticipated to be broadly in line with existing .tel pricing.
