【オークブルック（米イリノイ州）2013年9月2日PRN=共同JBN】医療機関認証組織のJoint Commission International （JCI、http://www.jointcommissioninternational.org）は2日、国際病院認証基準（http://store.jointcommissioninternational.org/jci-accreditation-standards-for-hospitals-5th-edition）の第5版を公表した。世界の関係者向けに編さんされたこの基準は3年ごとに更新され、病院や大学病院での患者の安全とケアの質に応えるものである。これまで56カ国の575余りの健康管理組織がJCIの認証を受けている。

第5版は新たに大幅更新された基準と判定要素を備えており、2014年4月1日に発効する。16カ国のJCIの調査員やコンサルタント、フォーカスグループを巻き込んだ広範な処理、病院長とのインタビュー、数百人のヘルスケア専門家からのオンラインレビューを通じて生まれた。医師、看護師、管理者、公共政策専門家などで構成する多国籍の13人のStandards Advisory Panel（基準審議会）が見直し手続きを指導した。その結果完成したものは医療技術利用、供給チェーン統一、患者ケアのハンドオーバー通信、感染症管理、セーフティー・カルチャーなどの緊急課題をより重視したマニュアルとなった。

JCIのポール・ファンオステンバーグ国際認証・基準、判定担当副会長は「ヘルスケアの世界は過去3年でかなり変質し、JVIもそれに応じて変わった。第5版は一般病院や大学病院が継続的にその質と患者の安全努力を向上し、将来に備えられるよう支援することを目指した」と語った。

英語による電子ブックが現在入手可能であり、印刷版は2013年10月に出版され、翻訳版の電子ブックはアラビア語、簡体中国語、オランダ語、イタリア語、日本語、ブラジルポルトガル語、スペイン語、トルコ語で2014年初めに出版される。

JCI認証を考慮する病院経営者は、ソウル（9月2-6日）、ないしドバイ（10月27-31日）で開かれるInternational Practicum on Accreditation and Quality Improvementでコンプライアンス戦略について学ぶことができる。第5版コンプライアンスを準備するJCI認証組織向けの更新セミナーは、ソウルで8月29-30日、シンガポールで9月9-10日、バンコクで9月14-15日、アムステルダムで10月10-11日、ドバイで10月28-29日に開かれる。

Joint Commission International Releases Hospital Standards, Fifth Edition

Joint Commission International (JCI)

fifth edition of its International Accreditation Standards for Hospitals (

). The standards, written for a global audience, are updated triennially and

address patient safety and quality of care at hospitals and academic medical

centers. More than 575 health care organizations in 56 countries have earned

JCI accreditation.

The fifth edition features new and substantially updated standards and

measurable elements that take effect 1 April 2014. Updates emerged through an

extensive process involving JCI surveyors and consultants, focus groups held in

16 countries, interviews with hospital CEOs, and online reviews by hundreds of

health care professionals. A 13-member multinational Standards Advisory Panel

-- comprised of physicians, nurses, administrators, and public policy experts

-- guided the revision process. The result is a manual with more focus on

pressing issues such as use of medical technology, supply chain integrity,

handover communications in patient care, infectious disease management, and

creating and maintaining a safety culture.

"The health care world has changed substantially in the last three years, and

so has JCI. The fifth edition is designed to help hospitals and academic

medical centers continuously improve their quality and patient safety efforts

and prepare for the future," explained Paul vanOstenberg, Vice President of

The e-book, in English, is currently available, the print version in October

2013, and translated e-books in Arabic, simplified Chinese, Dutch, Italian,
