Educational Testing Service （ETS）評議員会は30日、世界の代表的な非営利教育測定・研究機関である同社の次期社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）としてウォルト・マクドナルド（Walt McDonald）氏を選出した。マクドナルド氏は現在、ETSで上級副社長兼最高執行責任者（COO）を務めている。正式就任は2014年1月1日付け。

マクドナルド氏が引き継ぐカート・M・ランドグラフ氏は2000年以来社長の座にあった。ランドグラフ氏の社長在任中、ETSはグローバル・プレゼンスを拡大、革新的技術を使った評価方法を開始し、さらに先端的な研究を行って、教育政策の分野で重要な発言力を持つに至った。同機関はまた、教師の教育、学生の学習を助けるため、また少数民族および低所得層の学生に過度に表れる学習成果の格差を埋めるための新たな製品を開発してきた。ETSはランドグラフ氏の指揮の下、6000人の従業員が180カ国で活動する組織に成長した。

   The Board of Trustees of Educational Testing Service (ETS) today selected

Walt MacDonald as the next president and CEO of this world-leading non-profit

educational measurement and research organization. Currently MacDonald serves

as ETS's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He will

officially begin on Jan. 1, 2014.

   MacDonald will replace Kurt M. Landgraf, who has served as president since

2000.  During Landgraf's presidency, ETS has expanded its global presence,

launched technologically innovative assessments, generated cutting-edge

research and become an important voice in education policy. The organization

has also created new products to help teachers teach and students learn, and to

narrow the academic achievement gaps that disproportionately affect minority

and low-income students. Under Landgraf's leadership, ETS has grown to an
