＊HFO LtdがGlobal Fund Solutions Pty Ltd との戦略的合併を発表、香港がグローバル事業の活動拠点に

ファミリーオフィスからヘッジファンド、機関投資家マネジャーのミドルオフィス、バックオフィス向けリスク・アウトソーシングで業界をリードするHONG KONG: HFO Limitedは12日、Global Fund Solutions Pty Ltd.と戦略的合併合意書に署名したと発表した。

合併による業務の拡大は、HFOのテクニカルな能力、規模の経済、バランスシートファンディングが加わり、HFOはオペレーション・コントロールやリスク分野における市場リーダーとしての地位を強化することになる。

HFOの創業者で最高経営責任者（CEO）のベン・パーカー氏は「われわれの主目標は、投資調査や利益回収のために何をすることがベストなのかを判断する能力を顧客に提供することであり、同時に顧客の事業活動やリスクコントロールを低く抑えた固定費用で機関的インフラストラクチャーを通じて確保することである」と語り、以下のように続けた。

「GFSとの合併は既存の顧客に対するサービスを向上させ、われわれの能力の幅を広げるものである。特にファミリーオフィスや信託管理、個人資産管理における多様な投資戦略や付加価値創成支援における能力についてそう言える」

「HFOのミドルオフィス、バックオフィス、会計部門はGFSの補完システム、報告・リスクソフトとの統合により、わが社が投資会社に対してこれまでなら世界最大規模の先端的マネジャーにしかできなかったことができるようになることを意味している」

両社の業務活動およびリスクシステムやインフラへの投資は2006年以降にさかのぼって記録をたどることが可能で、グローバルなマネジャーベースで最も要求度の高いトレーディングオペレーションを行ってきたことが分かる。

パーカー氏はさらに「GFSとの合併によるシナジー効果は、社内技術開発への投資に関する両社の見解が一致しており、すべてのバックオフィス機能を最善のシステムと結びつけ、投資ビジネスをサポートするスケーラビリティー、ロバストネス、アキュラシーにおいて最高の結果を達成できるとの認識を共有していることが出発点になっている」と述べた。

HFOのプレゼンスはアジア太平洋地位から欧州、北米地域に拡大している。本社は香港にあり、シドニーにオフィスがある。メルボルンとバハマ諸島にプレゼンスを開くことが決まっており、シンガポールとロンドンに進出することも計画している。

Hong Kong becomes base for global operations as HFO Limited announces strategic

merger with Global Fund Solutions Pty Ltd

    HONG KONG: HFO Limited, a leading provider of middle office, back office

and risk outsourcing services to family offices, hedge funds and institutional

managers, today announced it has signed a strategic merger agreement with

Global Fund Solutions Pty Ltd.

     The merged operation adds to HFO’s technical capabilities, economies of

scale and balance sheet funding, positioning the business as a market leader in

the operations control and risk space.

    "Our core objective is to provide clients with the ability to focus on what

they do best - investment research and return generation - while we ensure

their operations and risk control obligations are met via an institutional

infrastructure at low fixed cost," said Ben Parker, HFO founder and CEO.

    "The merger with GFS will improve our service offering to existing

customers and broaden our capabilities, particularly in supporting a diverse

range of investment strategies and adding value to family offices, trust

administrators and private wealth platforms."

Both firms’ investment in operational and risk systems and infrastructure can

be traced back to 2006 and they cater for the most demanding trading operations

of a global manager base.

    Mr Parker said: "The synergies with GFS stem from a shared view that

investment in in-house technology, combined with best of breed systems across

all back office functions, generates the best results in terms of scalability,

robustness and accuracy in supporting investment businesses."

    HFO's presence will extend from the Asia-Pacific region to include greater

focus on Europe and North America. With headquarters in Hong Kong and an office

in Sydney, HFO will also have a presence in Melbourne and the Bahamas with

plans for offices in Singapore and London.
