【ムンバイ（インド）、ボルティモア（米メリーランド州）2013年8月1日】医薬品大手のルピン社（Lupin Ltd.）は1日、子会社のルピン・ファーマシューティカルズ社（Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc.）（LPI）がアルモダフィニル（Armodafinil）50mg、100mg、150mg、200mg、250mg錠剤についての暫定承認とドキシサイクリン（Doxycycline）カプセル40mg（30mg即時放出と10mg遅延放出）についての暫定承認を米食品医薬品局（FDA）から受けたと発表した。

ルピンのアルモダフィニル錠剤はCephalon IncのNuvigil（登録商標）錠剤（50mg、100mg、150mg、200mg、250mg）のAB格付けのジェネリック医薬品である。アモルダフィニル錠剤は治療を受けている閉塞性睡眠時無呼吸、ナルコレプシー、交代制作業障害に伴う過度の眠気の成人患者の覚醒改善向けに処方されている。Nuvigil50mg、100mg、150mg、200mg、250mg錠剤の2013年3月までの12カ月の米国における売上高は約4億2000万ドルだった（IMSヘルスのデータ）。

ルピンのドキシサイクリン・カプセルはGalderma LaboratoriesのOracea（登録商標）カプセル40mgのAB格付けジェネリック医薬品である。ドキシサイクリン・カプセルは成人の酒さ（rosacea）患者の炎症性病巣（丘疹、膿疱）の治療だけに処方されている。Oraceaカプセルの2013年3月までの12カ月の米国における売上高は約3億1900万ドルだった（IMSヘルスのデータ）。

Lupin Receives Tentative FDA Approvals for Generic Nuvigil(R) Tablets and Generic Oracea(R) Capsules

    Pharma Major Lupin Limited announced today that its U.S. subsidiary, Lupin

Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (LPI) has received tentative approval for its Armodafinil

Tablets, 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg and 250 mg strengths as well as another

tentative approval for its Doxycycline Capsules, 40 mg (30 mg Immediate-release

and 10 mg Delayed-release) from the United States Food and Drugs Administration

(FDA).

    Lupin's Armodafinil Tablets are the AB-rated generic equivalent of Cephalon

Inc's Nuvigil(R) tablets 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg and 250 mg strengths.

Armodafinil Tablet is indicated to improve wakefulness in adult patients with

excessive sleepiness associated with treated obstructive sleep apnea (OSA),

narcolepsy, or shift work disorder. Nuvigil(R) tablets, 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg,

200 mg and 250 mg had U.S sales of approximately USD420 million, for the twelve

months ending March, 2013 (IMS Health data).

    Lupin's Doxycycline Capsules is the AB-rated generic equivalent of Galderma

Laboratories Oracea(R) Capsules, 40 mg. Doxycycline Capsule is indicated for

the treatment of only inflammatory lesions (papules and pustules) of rosacea in

adult patients. Oracea(R) Capsules had annual U.S sales of approximately USD

319 million for the twelve months ending March, 2013 (IMS Health data).
