【ソウル2013年5月21日PRN＝共同JBN】4月16日に184日の会期で開幕した順天湾ガーデンエキスポはこれまで150万人の観客が訪れた、と主催者が21日に発表した。

主催者によると、観客数は５月15日に100万人を超え、先週末とブッダの誕生日にさらに30万人が会場を訪れた。

ガーデンエキスポは「Garden of the Earth」をテーマに、ソウルから南へ415キロ離れた順天（スンチョン）で10月20日まで開催される。

開幕日の訪問者は3万1500人で、2012年に「Living Ocean and Coast」をテーマにソウルの南455キロにある港湾都市、麗水（イエス）で開かれたエキスポの開幕日の訪問者数2万6000人を大きく上回った。

Suncheon Expo Greets 1.5 Million Visitors

                   Suncheon expo-visitors tally

    The 184-day Suncheon Bay Garden exposition has attracted nearly 1.5 million

visitors since it opened on April 16, the event's organizer said on Monday.

    The number of visitors hit the 1 million mark on last Wednesday (May 15),

while another 300,000 tourists visited the venue over last weekend and Buddha's

birthday, according to the organizer.

    The garden expo, which runs under the theme of "Garden of the Earth," is

held in Suncheon, 415 kilometers south of Seoul, until October 20.

    Suncheon attracted 31,500 visitors on its opening day, well above the

26,000 visitors posted by the 2012 Yeosu Expo's first day, which was held last

year under the theme of "Living Ocean and Coast" in the port city of Yeosu,

located some 455 kilometers south of Seoul.
