【サンフランシスコ2013年5月8日PRN＝共同JBN】クラウド・ベースのウェブブラウザーであるMaxthonは8日、ユーザーがあらゆるサイズのファイルを自分のブラウザーからローカル・ネットワーク上にあるすべての機器に直接転送できるローカル・エリア・ネットワーク（LAN）転送機能の発売を発表した。ブラウザー内でこのサービスを利用できるのは初めてである。

Maxthonのカール・マットソン国際担当副社長は「これは、ウェブをユーザーにとってよりやさしくより速くより便利なものにするというコミットメントを強調するものである。ブラウザーはだれのインターネット体験でも中核的なコンポーネントであり続けており、当社の『クラウドプッシュ』性能にLAN転送機能が追加されることは、ブラウザーを明日の基本システム（OS）へ進化させるためにわが社がとっている多くのステップの一つである」と語っている。

現在WindowsとAndroidで利用可能（iOS、Macでも近く可能）なLAN転送機能は、ファイルを一つの機器から他の機器へ移動させるスピードを大幅にアップさせる。これにはファイルを事前にクラウドにアップロードする必要はなく、まず手近のネットワークを特定し接続する機器を探し出せば、あとはMaxthonクラウド・ブラウザーが顧客の機器間で大きなファイルを簡単に迅速に送れるようにする。

マットソン副社長はこれに付け加えて「LAN転送機能の追加は、ユーザーの毎日のウェブ体験をかなり大きく改善する。最新、最速のホーム・インターネット・サービスを受けている顧客なら、これで1GBのファイルを一つの機器からほかの機器へ、別のアップ・オーバー・アンド・ダウンのクラウド・サービスの5倍以上の速さで転送できる」と述べている。

Maxthon, a cloud-based web browser, today announced the launch of the local

area network (LAN) transfer feature, empowering users to quickly and easily

transfer files of any size from their browser directly to any device on their

local network. This is the first time the service is available within a browser.
