太陽光発電の大手独立系電力事業者であるT-Solar Groupは、インドで同社2番目の太陽光発電プラントを電力網に接続したばかりである。これは同社のインドにおける戦略的成長にとって節目となる出来事である。

インド・グジャラート州ナヤカの新プラントは12.3メガワットの能力を備え、年間19.4ギガワットを出力する。このプラントは、急成長しているインド経済と同じ速さで増加している電力需要に対応できるよう、インドの電力網を助けることになる。この発電プラントは、36.4ヘクタールのサイトに9万6885枚のソーラーパネルを設置している。

T-Solarはまた、ラジャスタン州オシアンに2011年10月稼働している出力5メガワットの太陽光発電プラントも所有しており、電力網に年間8.5ギガワットの電力を提供している。このプラントは、スペイン企業として初めてインドの電力網に接続された太陽光発電プラントであり、インド政府のイニシアチブであるJawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission（ジャワハルラル・ネール国家太陽光ミッション、JNNSM）の元で最初に稼働したプラントのひとつである。

T-Solar Expands its Operations in India with a EUR34m Investment

    - It was the first Spanish company to connect a solar energy plant to the

      Indian grid and now has two plants in the country

    - The new Gujarat plant has 96,885 panels mounted over a site of 36.4

    The T-Solar Group, a major independent power producer of photo-voltaic

solar energy, has just connected up its second PV power plant in India. This

milestone is part of the company's strategic growth plan for India.

    The new plant in Nayaka (Gujarat), with an installed capacity of 12.3 MWp,

will generate 19.4 GWh a year. It will help the country's national grid to meet

a demand for electricity that is increasing as fast as the Indian economy is

growing. The power plant consists of 96,885 panels installed over a 36.4

hectare site.

    T-Solar also has another 5 MWp photo-voltaic power plant in Osiyan

(Rajasthan) that has been operational since October 2011, providing the

electricity grid with 8.5 GWh a year. It was the first photo-electric power

plant to be connected to the Indian grid by a Spanish company and one of the

first to come on line under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).

    The total investment in these to photo-voltaic projects amounts to EUR34m

and they generate enough energy to supply over 49,000 people.

    T-Solar is consolidating its operations in a market with enormous potential

for the immediate future. India's energy requirements together with its growth

make it an outstanding setting for photo-voltaic investment, as the

scalability, rapid installation and simplicity of this technology make it

highly beneficial to the country.
