【ドバイ（アラブ首長国連邦）2013年1月1日PRN＝共同JBN】今や世界的に知られる大みそかイベント「ダウンタウン・ドバイ・ニューイヤーズイブ・ガラ」（Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala）が地球上で最も名高い1平方キロと呼ばれるダウンタウン・ドバイ地区で行われ、世界中から100万人以上の人々が集まって35分間にわたる華々しいカウントダウンを祝い、シングルイベントとしては世界で最も参加者の多い行事の一つという素晴らしい世界的な画期的イベントとなった。

「ダウンタウン・ドバイ・ニューイヤーズイブ・ガラ」は既に世界で最も視聴率の高いイベントの一つにランクされており、世界中の1000以上のテレビチャンネルで生中継されたばかりか、 www.mydowntowndubai.comと www.youtube.com/downtowndubai のサイトでも生で流され、閲覧者は20億人超に達した。この機会に数千人の観光客がドバイ入りし、Emaar Propertiesによる広さ500エーカーのメガ開発地域「ダウンタウン・ドバイ」がまさに「現代の中心（The Centre of Now）」であることを裏書きした。

「ニューイヤーズイブ・ガラ」の比類ない呼び物としては世界最高層ビルであるブルジュ・ハリファからのカラフルな打ち上げ花火があるが、今回は初めてオーケストラの生演奏が組み合わされた。打ち上げ花火は夜空に花々や星々、半月の形を色彩豊かに次々と描き出した。このほど41回目の建国記念日を祝ったアラブ首長国連邦（UAE）にふさわしい奉祝の一環として、花火はブルジュ・ハリファをUAE国旗の配色に染め上げた。これに続いて、ブルジュ・ドバイ湖上で目をみはるばかりの水と火と光のショー、そしてプラハ交響楽団の生演奏が行われた。

政府観光商務局行事評議会（Dubai Events Council）の会長を兼務するEmaar Propertiesのモハメド・アラバール会長は「『ダウンタウン・ドバイ・ニューイヤーズイブ・ガラ』は文字通り、地球上で最も名高い１平方キロに広がるオーディオ・ビジュアルなスペクタクルだ。このイベントは、世界中の人々に対して希望の灯としての役割を果たし、この都市がもたらす幸福と繁栄、そして力強い将来を際立たせることによってドバイが堅持している前向きなビジョンを強調している。このイベントは今や国際的な都市、とりわけニューヨーク、ロンドン、シドニーなどの都市と同じように、世界中で知られる大みそか祝賀イベントの一つになっている」と語った。

Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala puts global spotlight on the city attracting over 1 million visitors

    The iconic New Year's Eve Gala in Downtown Dubai, the most prestigious

square kilometre on earth, set an impressive global milestone as one of the

world's most attended single events, attracting over 1 million people from

across the globe, with a 35-minute long spectacular countdown celebration.

    Already ranked among the world's most-watched events, Downtown Dubai New

Year's Eve Gala was telecast live over 1,000 television channels globally, and

reaching over 2 billion viewers. Thousands of tourists flew in to Dubai for the

occasion, underlining Downtown Dubai, the 500-acre mega-development of Emaar

    The Gala featured an unparalleled display of colourful fireworks from Burj

Khalifa, the world's tallest building, set for the first time to live

orchestra. The fireworks created airborne shapes of flowers, crescents and

stars, in several colour sets and sequences. In a fitting tribute to the UAE,

which celebrated its 41st National Day recently, the fireworks enveloped Burj

Khalifa in the colours of the national flag. This followed a dazzling water,

fire and light show on Burj Lake; and the live performance of Prague

Philharmonic Orchestra.
